The renewable energy feed-in tariff pays eligible Australian Capital Territory households and small-businesses for the excess electricity they generate from small-scale solar (photovoltaic or PV) or wind power systems.
The EnergyMadeEasy website lists electricity retailers that offer feed-in tariffs in your area.
If you already have a renewable energy generation system installed and aren’t receiving a feed-in tariff but want to, you'll need to contact your energy retailer to determine your eligibility.
You could also be eligible for financial assistance to help with the cost of installing a small-scale solar system under the Australian Government’s Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme (SRES).
Feed-in credits or payments you receive may have implications if you receive any Centrelink or other benefit payments, they may also be considered as assessable income by the Australian Taxation Office.
